碩士 === 東吳大學 === 政治學系 === 103 === This thesis is attempted to investigate into North Korea’s China Policy during the Kim Jong-Il and Kim Jong-Un era. Theories of small state foreign policy was employed as analytical framework, using security, economic relations and diplomacy as three variables to trace changes and continuities in North Korea’s China policy. The study also analyzed how different the Chinese and North Korean expectations about each other was, and how effective they were when they tried to influence each other’s foreign and domestic policies. This comparison is followed by a general assessment of the success and failures of North Korea’s China policy.
