| Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 日本語文學系 === 103 === According to grammar of Japanese language, adverbs of degree is tend to modify adjectives generally, but according to the researches after Yamada(1936), more scholars mention the point of view that adverbs of degree also used with nouns. With the definition of adverbs, they point out that adverbs of degree connect to noun is unique, but few of researches analyzing its meaning and function.
Therefore, this study focuses on discussing the co-occurrence between adverbs of degree and nouns, and find out the characteristics of nouns from “adverbs of degree＋noun”. To maintain the accuracy of the analysis, this study use the Balanced Corpus of Contemporary Written Japanese as the database and choose the sentences which constructed by “adverbs of degree＋noun”, use collocation to indicate that the nouns’ characteristics and categories which connect with adverbs of degree frequently. Besides, based on the date of corpus, clearing the connection between adverbs of degree and modality. According to the difference between each adverbs of degree, there’s variance or restriction from usage.
In addition, for this purpose that knowing the real circumstances of adverbs of degree in Japanese education in Taiwan, we analyzing the primary textbooks for beginner and intermediate, find out which and how many times that adverbs of degree being used. At last, refer to the sentences from textbooks and the result of analysis, try to figure out a teaching method on usage that fits Japanese learner in beginner and intermediate level.
