Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 國際碩士學位學程 === 103 === The incorporation of new trade policies in Peru during the last decades has had a significant impact on the export growth of Peru’s goods and services after the openness of Peru’s economy extending its relations through trade agreements, in particular the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with countries that demand Peru’s products across the border. This study considers the relation of trade promotion policies and the export growth paying special attention to two issues. The first one is the strategies of export promotion in explaining this growth and the diversification of its export during the studied period. The second one is the external market in explaining Peru's products demand and the diversification of its markets. This analysis notes that although Peru has enjoyed high rates of export growth, the composition of its export products has not changed, metals and minerals, for example, are still the main Peru’s export products, and, on the other hand, the data shows a continuous concentration of its export products in few trade partners. For example: China, US and Japan compromise approximately 50% of its total exports. This situation raises high dependence on raw materials and a very few markets.
