Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 化粧品科學系 === 103 === Two solid catalysts featuring high catalytic reactivity for the etherification of glycerol, SO42-/Sr7Fe10O22 and Sr7Fe10O22, were prepared and used respectively as heterogeneous catalysts to carry out the progress of the reaction to obtain poly-glycerols under solvent free reaction condition. The relationship between the reaction parameters, including stirring speed, reaction temperature and reaction time, and the composition of the output stream of the reaction was investigated in this work in order to looking for the optimized reaction condition for increasing the yield of poly-glycerols. GC and GC-mass were used to monitor the yield and composition of the poly-glycerols in the reaction mixture during the reaction, respectively. The potential of using the products as an ingredient of cosmetic products was further evaluated by the surface tension, water retention and cell survival rate of the product. The experimental results show that the highest poly-glycerol yield was obtained when the reaction was carried out at 200oC and 70rpm over Sr7Fe10O22. The optimized catalyst loading was 5 wt% based on the weight of glycerol in the reaction mixture. The product of the heterogeneously catalyzed etherification features excellent water retention ability. When the additional concentration of the product was as high as 25% in the base, the reaction product was cytotoxic free to XB-2 keratinocytes, which means the high biocompatibility of the product for being used as a new cosmetic ingredient.
