Summary: | 碩士 === 國立聯合大學 === 創設產碩專班 === 102 === To survive in the economic hardship and create the second economic miracle, Taiwanese enterprises need value-added design from ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) to OBM (Original Brand Manufacture).
The reason of this problem is the insufficiency of the knowledge of transforming concept to mass production in the design education system. The gap between the creative concept and production engineering becomes obvious because of the junior designer’s limited knowledge of manufacturing process, production model, and industry ecosystem.
The research explores the problems in new product design process by applying case study in the teamwork between T Company and A Design Company. The problems of creative design to mass manufacturing are examined and the knowledge and technological skill are discovered. The research clarifies the operational mode of concept design to mass manufacturing, and finally concludes the integrated knowledge of process for concept design to mass production. The conclusion is hoped to help enterprise and young designer to reduce the problems between concept design and volume manufacturing, and bridge the gap for the bicycle industry.

Recommend to problem of product development process. As following:The design concet problem, the problem of manufacturing process choice, the engineering drawing conversion problems, the problem of prototyping, and the development process problem.
Propose a new creative design and product development process for bicycle industry.
