The first antenna design for Taiwan band properly arranges the associated ground plane and antenna layout as well as integrates the low noise amplifier into the antenna. Then, for covering the whole UHF band, a coupled fed design based on the previous antenna structure is proposed. Besides, to avoid interferences from adjacent bands, a notch circuit is added in the low noise amplifier. As for the third antenna, both UHF and VHF bands are covered by using also the coupled fed design to produce a broadband mode in the UHF band, and adding a folded antenna structure to excite the VHF band. Measurements are performed by using the spherical near field anechoic chamber and vector network analyzers at Taiwan Tech. Good agreements between the measurements and simulations in S-parameters, radiation patterns, and radiation efficiencies are obtained. Also, road tests by mounting the antennas on the bumpers of the cars are carried out to test reception performance for practical applications. Excellent receiving capabilities are obtained.
