Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 多媒體動畫藝術學系新媒體藝術碩士班 === 103 === Music Video Art is the integration of music and recorded images, utilizing diverse media properties to construct a manifestation of the artist’s creative styles as applied to popular music. This study aims to investigate the development of Music Video Art context, it’s impact on modern art, and how it utilizes new media art.
The work featured in this paper, “Floating”, is an ideographic, floating concept in which the artist plays both composer and director to portray the concept of floating between worlds. Using video art to express the artist’s feelings toward the ocean and water, it creates the fantasy of living under water. A deep creative concept, it explores communication outlets in the age of digital technology, crossing borderless worlds, and creating a cognitive connection between musical and visual elements. Furthermore, through the integration of sound, music, video, and images, this work poses the questions: Is the floating figure the creator’s own physical body, a temporal abstract self-portrait, or a sort of shapeless spirit? It is a personal hope that this project and it’s concept may be applied to the development of current and future Music Video Art, and serve as a reference piece for future Music Video Art production.
