Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班 === 104 === This study used the qualitative research to elaborated upon the psychlogical process of a single mother of a multiple disabilities, her interactions, and how the support systems functioned. The data collection was based on indepth interviews, observations and child’s personal documents. After the collection, analysis and interpretation of the data, the main finding of this study were as follows: 1. The psychological process of the mother went from refusing her multiple disabilities child to accepting him and then further possitively confronting it. 2.When under stress, the single mother adjusted herself by means of outer support.(i.e. education, medication, etc)and inner power(searching the related information and religion). 3.The Parent-child interaction can be seen as a recuring cycle of the demands of the single mother and the resistance of the child. With the change in the child’s conditions, the single mother’s attitude toward her child, and her way of teaching, the child’s positive behaviors emerged and then the parent-child relationship became intimate. 4.The supports of the early inyervention and special education teachers, the clarification of educational views and the demonstration can be seen as the most in the school support system. 5.The health resources offered by the medical team, and the inner power from self constituted the single mother’s support system. According to the above-mentioned findings, this study, aiming at parents, the staff and faculty of the school, the special education administration, and the future approach, raised some suggestions.
