Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 103 === In this thesis, a novel lossless image compression algorithm using pixel-value-difference technique is proposed. We observe that, in an image, values of two adjacent pixels are very close. Based on this observation, the distribution of difference values is a Laplacian-like distribution. Thus it can be compressed very well. Experiments show that the performance and the compression ratio of the proposed method are better than that of JPEG2000.
