Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 經濟學系 === 103 === This paper evaluates whether disclosure of product information influences consumers’ purchasing decisions. In particular, I study whether being certified as the government’s fleet vehicles provides a positive signal of the product quality to consumers and raises its sales. I use a fixed effect model to estimate vehicles sales in Shanxi Province from 2011 to 2012. The results show that the government’s fleet adoption decisions had a positive effect on vehicle sales for private cars, but had no effect on sales for public ones. I also evaluate the effects of information disclosure based on product types and geographic locations.
