As for characters, besides the main ones, author used well-known people in history as supporting roles to coordinate with the settings, and built other characters to progress the storyline and present the settings. Among all, settings are the most distinctive characteristics of Magic Tree House, author used time traveling to bring readers into the settings. This serves not only as the atmosphere builder, but also provides “conflicts” for the plot. Different from many other children’s literature, Magic Tree House conveys its message through vivid dialogues between characters, other than narrators. With simple story structure, Magic Tree House successfully uses its plots to draw attentions of young readers, and further induces their empathy, as well as right their wrong philosophy. The second part(book29-48) of the series has deeper and lengthier content, which can even broaden young readers’ sense of literature reading.
