The Questionnaire of Adaptive Elective Courses was designed by six experts and was administered to principals of all 198 public senior high schools throughout Taiwan. Among them,153 surveys were returned, with a response rate of 77.3%. Results are as follows: 96.73% of the sample reported that their schools currently offer “adaptive elective courses;” meanwhile 98.69% of the principals were supportive of it demonstrating a high congruence. Regarding the feasibility of “adaptive elective courses,” these principals indicated difficulties. Amongst these challenges, 40.76% are related to teachers and 15.28% to students, accounting for 55% of the total. As for the current status of “ability grouping,” only 17% principals reported its implementation; however, 76.47% are supportive of implementing,” indicating the difference between willingness and reality. The principals indicated difficulties in regard to the feasibility of “ability group.” Amongst these challenges, 29.03% are related to student factors, 20.97% to administration, and 18.55% to teacher factors, account for 70% of the total factors. The researcher concluded and encouraged principals to overcome obstacles, contributing to the adaptive education for students. Yuh-Yin Wu 吳毓瑩 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 64 zh-TW
