With the action research method, the paper selects the students at grade 2 from the school where the author works in as the research subjects to conduct 16 periods of courses with cultures of four different groups as the theme. During the teaching, the author collects the records of classroom observation, discussions, teaching journals, learning sheets, feedback sheets and interview records, as well as the teacher’s reflection of teaching for analysis. The findings from the research mainly include: 1.The teaching activity aided by picture books can improve the target students’ cognition of multi-culture. 1). It can improve their cognition of different cultures in terms of festivals. 2). It can improve their cognition of different cultures in terms of diets and costume. 2.The teaching activity aided by picture books can help them establish the concepts of cultural differences. 3.The teaching activity aided by picture books can help the researchers develop in their career. Based on the above-mentioned results, it proposed the following suggestions to the practitioners who devoted themselves in exploring multicultural education for future references. For teachers of grass-roots, it is suggested that after-school activities and experiencing activities be added. The teaching design can be integrated into all teaching subjects. In terms of teaching materials, the culture of Southern Min can be designed to be closer to the children’s life, and stories about the aboriginal cultures can be added. It is better to make low-grade students cultivate the understanding to the local culture. Besides, internet can be used to enrich the teaching activities. Future researches can be focused on the different acceptance of students at different ages, and for the research materials, apart from qualitative data, quantitative data can be added.
