With smartphones being popular and necessary in our lives, "the phubbers" becomes an universal phenomenon. The purpose of the study is to understand students' addictions to using smartphones in National Taiwan Ocean University. Stratified sampling of this study consists of 688 students from National Taiwan Ocean University. The results is as following: First of all, there are 99% of students using smart phones and using them over a year. Secondly, there are more than 80% of students using them with an internet service. Thirdly, over 50% of the college students uses smart phones over an hour per day and over 70% of them uses the extra service of the smart phone over an hour every day. Next, they mostly use their smart phones to call their friends and peers, and in addition to the function of dialing, they use Short Message Service, Instant Messaging and social software the most. Last but not least, they pay the smart phone bill under 1,000 NT dollar every mounth. When it comes to the tendency, there are no significant differences of smart phone addictions between different sexes, socioeconomic statuses, and performance of schoolwork. However, college students that use smart phone everyday, specifically those using internet service and using smart phone in class have higher chances to be a smartphone addict. As for the interpersonal relationships, it is revealed that students with higher grades, more pocket money, and a more expensive smart phone have better interpersonal relationships. Smartphone Addiction Tendency of College students and their relationship are highly correlated to couples, moderately correlated to peers, and modestly or weakly correlated to other types of relationships.
