According to the Department of household registration, Ministry of Interior, the household population statistics show that Taiwan’s population with aging over 65 years old was up to 2.6 million at 11.15% of our total population in 2012. One out of every 9 persons is aged over 65 years old in our society. With this aging population trend, it is estimated that Taiwan will switch from "aging society" to "aged society" in 2017 and jump into "super-aged society" in 2025. Successful aging and aging in place are ultimate goal for community resident elderly. Many elderly wish that by the age of 75, they would radar put their money for better enjoyment then spending money for hospital care. Aging process accompany with different degree of health deterioration, causes obstacles and poor quality for daily life. Health-promoting lifestyle helps elderly to maintain a better life style and self-esteem which be considered an important way of increasing happiness both mentality and physiologically. This study select 380 elderly of age 65 and over as sampling object from seven districts of Keeling city whit valid respond of 98%. Structure questionnaire was used including two type of measurement, self-conscious health status measurement and health-promoting lifestyle measurement. Final data was analyzed by the software of SPSS. According to data analysis, we found that population variables in perceived health status and health-promoting behaviors have significant differences; perceived health status and health-promoting behaviors are related to positively; further confirmed population variables in perceived health status and health-promoting behaviors have intermediary effection. that elderly people in Keelung on perceived health status are generally poor, and as the age get older, the lower education level, will cause the more consciously suffering from chronic health condition in serious. To promote the implementation with proper nutrition is the best health lifestyle , but careless with stress management, health responsibility and sports . The main impact of perceived health and health promotion of life important factors, including education, human interaction with the family and the number suffering from chronic diseases associated with smoking behavior. The study suggests in the future, the health units to provide elderly health promotion related activities, we should be especially conscious of elderly health situation assessment, to establish a comprehensive support system, the activities designed need to fit the needs of the elderly health promotion programs, and certainly worth the life of the elderly, and then to achieve the goal of a successful aging.
