Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育學系課程與教學教學碩士班 === 103 === The purpose of this research was to understand the current status about the multicultural education literacy of the public elementary school teachers in Tainan city.This research explored the correlation between teachers’ literacy qualities and background factors,and also explored the multicultural education literacy of the public elementary school teachers at all levels of correlation.
A questionnaire was used in this study. 669 elementary school teachers participated in this study. 533 validated questionnaires were collected. The effective response rate was 79.67%.
The results were analyzed by statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, one-way ANOVA , Scheffé method and Pearson product-moment correlation. The conclusions were as follows:
1.The multicultural education literacy of the public elementary school teachers in Tainan city was above average,while the teachers had higher scores in the "multicultural knowledge "from the rest.
2.In the teachers’ background variables ,different "gender " , "ethnic groups " and "whether to participate in the last three years studying issues related to multicultural education had the most significant difference,in which male,the Minan group,and who participate in the relevant study perform better.
3. In the teachers’ background variables ,different "various area of school " had the most significant difference,in which teachers from remote area perform better.
4.The multicultural education literacy questionnaire at all levels had a significant correlation.
Finally, based on these analyses ,this research proposed concrete recommendations for educational administrative authorities,teacher education institutions,teachers in Tainan City elementary schools and follow-up researchers.
