Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士在職專班 === 103 === The purpose of this thesis was to investigate by action research whether preschool children’s visual perception capacity could be enhanced through teachers' implementation of instructional strategies. The subjects of this study included eight children of ages from five to six (four boys and four girls)and another eight of ages from four to five (five boys and three girls) in a mixed-age class in the elementary-school-affiliated preschool where the researcher served as a teacher. This study focused on qualitative data supplemented by quantitative data. The researcher adopted a variety of instructional strategies along with activities using thematic instruction. The major instructional strategies included games and picture-book reading. Children's performance in visual perception was assessed by using data collected from learning lists, audio recordings, research logs, student portfolios, and classroom observations. The researcher used picture-book covers for children's picture reading and trouble seeking to assess children's performance in visual perception before and after the activities to examine whether children’s visual perception capacity was enhanced through teachers' implementation of instructional strategies. The study was conducted intensively for a duration of one month, with18 visual-perception enhancing activities completed, each lasting for 1.5 to 2 hours. The results derivedafter the three phases of the action research of this study are presented as follows: 1. Children's visual perception capacity may be enhanced through implementation of instructional strategies. 2. With their visual perception capacity enhanced, children may apply the obtained skills to other learning activities and their daily lives. 3.Visual-perception enhancing activities may enhance not only children’s visual perception capacity, but also their drawing and self-expression abilities. 4.Visual-perception enhancing activities would promote to a greater extent the visual perception capacityof those children with greater drawing abilities.
