In order to maintain a certain high level of electric power quality, developing a voltage stabilizer is emerged as a potential alternative, which can be widely applied near at the customer side in order to mitigate the unexpected voltage disturbances. In this thesis, based on the paradigm of the dynamic voltage-restoring techniques, a design approach for the single-phase three-wired power distribution is proposed. In the method, a system composed of dc power source, an inverter, and coupling capacitor is suggested and connected between the distribution power line and its residential load. When voltage sag takes place, the inverter will be activated to inject a compensation voltage into the series capacitor such that the voltage profile of the power distribution line can be better preserved. In order to confirm the effectiveness of this proposed design, the approach is tested through the theoretical analysis and computer validation.
