Conventional prescription drugs are expected to release from the hospital’s profit. The implementation of medical online shopping is associated with the simplify of drug circulation, the visibility of drug information, and the digitalization of personal medicine health management. At present the business model of the pharmaceutical e-commerce can be divided into “pharmacy official website” and “third party cooperation platform”. The former is the establishing of online purchasing interface by chain pharmacies themselves, while the latter is composed of many pharmacies called and settled by several major electronic business players. No matter what kind of mode, the market is still small and limited in personal health care products retail. Due to the particularity of pharmaceutical good selling, which need more professional pre-sales consultation and after-sales service, qualified conservation management and authenticity, the instant and permanent demand, the large chain pharmacies and three party's platform put their effort into platform building, including mobile terminal with customer service, delivery system combined with local stores, authenticity and verification system, insurance engaged payment system etc… China will construct their own pharmaceutical e-commerce by substantially learn from the American pharmaceutical business development and by virtue of their own experience with the local consumption characteristics. This essay reviewed the current status and development of the medical e-commerce in china by discussing the related events, policies, reference of American business model, and the problems encountered.
