Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北護理健康大學 === 聽語障礙科學研究所 === 103 === The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of using tabletop game as a intervention program on the development of word recognition for four-to-six-year-old preschool children with language environment stimulation inadequate. A twelve tabletop game intervention program was implemented. Print icon recognition, rapid naming skill, and indirect word recognition ability of the participants were investigated. A total of 34 preschooler, age 4, 5, and 6 were recruited in this study, 19 from Taipei and 15 from Nantou. Pretest and posttest were administrated to examine children`s print icon recognition and rapid naming abilities. The word recognition learning ability was also examined every class. Result showed that: (a) A significant different was found between pre- and post-test in the print icon recognition task and rapid naming task. (b)A significant different was found between pre- and post-test word recognition of children with different age, different language ability and different area (c)Word recognition learning ability for children showed improvement after the tabletop game intervention program. Result might be helpful for clinicians to improve preschool children`s word recognition, and also for future research.
