Effect of Soccer Games on Gross Motor Quality of Preschool Children

碩士 === 國立臺北護理健康大學 === 運動保健研究所 === 103 === Background: It is important to improve both the difficulty of movement ability and the quality of motor development in pre-school children. In recent years, the rise of children soccer games, but it’s unclear for the intervention on the quality of preschool children's gross motor. Objective:The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of gross motor quality in preschool children's soccer games. Method:This research adopted two-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. We enrolled 101 preschool children who are from 4 years old to 6 years and 11 months old in two public kindergartens in Taipei and used purposive sampling. One kindergarten is the experimental group with 51 preschool children and the other is control group with 50 preschool children. The experimental group played 40 minutes soccer games twice a week for 10 weeks. We also adopted Preschooler Gross Motor Quality Scale(PGMQS) as research tool in the quality motor skills that assesses locomotion, manipulative movement and balance movement. Data analyses are using Independent t-test, paired t-test, analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Results: After 10 weeks soccer games, experimental group showed a significant improvement in locomotion, manipulative movement and balance movement. Conclusion: Soccer games may greatly improve the development of gross motor skills in preschool children.
