Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 海洋生物科技暨資源學系研究所 === 103 === The objectives of this study were to understand organotin (OT) pollution and to investigate the sources of OT of the harbors in Kaohsiung area. Samples of seawaters and surface sediments were collected from eighteen harbors. The samples then were analyzed by gas chromatography-flame photometric detection (GC-FPD). The results showed that butyltins were the major components of OT pollution of the harbors. The concentrations of MBT, DBT, TBT and ΣBT in seawaters were 3.3~38.2 ng/L, 1.7~45.1 ng/L, n.d.~77.7 ng/L and 6.3~150.4 ng/L as tin, respectively. The concentrations of MBT, DBT and TBT and ΣBT in surface sediments were 10.8~732.7 ng/g, 5.2~827.9 ng/g, n.d.~489.1 ng/g and 22.3~2004.2 ng/g as tin, respectively. MOcT was detected in water sample collected from Kezailiao Fishing Port 1, Kezailiao Fishing Port 2 and Gushan Ferry Station, and the concentration of MOcT in these sites were n.d.~7.4 ng/L, 2.9~6.4 ng/L and n.d.~3.1 ng/L as tin, respectively; however, MOcT was not detected in the sediment samples. DOcT and PTs were not detected neither waters nor sediments in any sites.
The levels of OT compounds were lower than most of the reported values from other foreign harbors. In comparison with the previous studies, OT concentrations in Kaohsiung Harbor have dropped significantly. Nevertheless, OT pollution of some fishing ports were varied greatly and much more serious than that of Kaohsiung Harbor. The results indicated that the control of OT compounds about the fishing ports is urgent to be strenthened.
