Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 音樂學系研究所 === 103 === Abstract After writing Four Seasons Beijing in 2012, the author continuously wrote a series of four pieces in all, mainly about Nature and Time Courses. The titles of these works are correspondent to the levels of the thoughts of Yi, distinguished as Taiji, Yin-Yang, Four Emblematic Symbols, and the Eight Divinatory Trigrams. This thesis is to explore the compositional ideas and the applications in the series of works. Because this series of works are guided by the thoughts of Taoism and Yi, the musicality in the whole, the forms, sectional contrasts, instrumentations, design of gamut registers, sound patterns, and dynamics are closely related to the Yin-yang and Five Elements theories of Yi. The thesis consists of four parts. First, the reasons of writing these works are described. Second, the connections between Taoism, Yi and Time Courses are discussed. The third part, which is the main section of the thesis, describes the compositional ideas and analyzes the compositional skills of three of the series of work. Finally, it is concluded with the author’s special personal experiences inspired by Nature, and the thoughts of Taoism and Yi.
