The Study on the Leisure Activity Needs and Leisure Activity Participation of Residents in Taiwu Township in Ping-Tung Country

碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 生態休閒教育教學碩士學位學程 === 103 === The study aimed to investigate the current situation of the relationship between leisure activity needs and leisure activity participation of the residents in Taiwu Township, Ping-tung County. Discussion of the variation as well as the correlation of leisure activity needs and participation among different personal background variables were displayed in the paper. The study adopted the Questionnaire Survey Method via the “Questionnaire of leisure activity needs and leisure activity participation of residents in Taiwu Township in Ping-tung County”. The subjects of the study were the residents of the six villages of Taiwu Township in Pingtung County, which included the Taiwu Village, Jiaping Village, Wutang Village, Pingho Village, Wan’an Village, and Jiaxing Village. By applying the Quota Sampling Method, 394 questionnaires were distributed to the subjects. Datas collected from the 386 valid questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS Statistics 19.0 in terms of Descriptive Statistics, Reliability Analysis, One-way MANOVA, Scheffe Method Post-hoc Test, and Canonical Correlation Analysis, etc. The major findings were summarized as follows: 1. This study tested the basic socioeconomic background Taiwu Township, Pingtung County, the villagers of the middle-aged, female, married, high school (grades), engaged in the industry who are mostly low-income persons. 2. Current status of the villagers leisure demand Taiwu Township, Pingtung County to feel the most emotional needs. 3. The variable of “different socioeconomic backgrounds” demonstrated a significant difference with leisure activity needs of residents of Taiwu Township. 4. Most residents in Taiwu Township participated in traditional leisure activities than other kinds of them. 5. The variable of “different socioeconomic backgrounds” illustrated a conspicuous correlation with leisure activity participation of residents of Taiwu Township. 6. An apparent positive relationship between leisure activity needs and leisure
