Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 教育行政研究所 === 103 === The study aims to investigate the relationships among the new immigrant mothers’ parenting style, self-concept of children, life adjustment of children and academic achievement of children in Pingtung. The study also explores the different effects of background variables on these four variables. Furthermore, the study analyzes the current situation of these variables and verifies the research hypotheses.
The study adopts questionnaire survey method. The research samples are the new immigrant children at public junior high schools in Pingtung City. 325 the new immigrant childrens are drawn by stratified random sampling. The statistics methods used in this research are as follows: factor analysis, reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, pearson’s product-moment correlation and multiple regression. The conclusions are summarized as follows:
1.Children of different gender has a positive and significant influence on the new immigrant mothers’ parenting style, life adjustment,and
academic achievement.
2.The new immigrant mothers’ parenting style has a positive and significant influence on academic achievement of children.
3.The new immigrant mothers’ parenting style has a positive and significant influence on self-concept of children.
4.The new immigrant mothers’ parenting style has a positive and significant influence on life adjustment of children.
5.Self-concept of children has a positive and significant influence on academic achievement.
6.Self-concept of children has a positive and significant influence on life adjustment.
7.Life adjustment of children has a positive and significant influence on academic achievement.
Based on the results of the study, this study provides some specific suggestions for school administration, teachers, new immigrant parents and subsequent researchers.
