Nordic Walking were performed for an hour three times a week, lasting for 12 weeks in the Nordic Walking group, yet the control group had no exercise intervention. Body composition, functional fitness and gait parameters were measured before and after the program. Using SPSS 19.0, the statistical software, to perform data analysis. Comparing the results which the two different groups had before and after the experiment with paired sample t-test, while for the variation, using the Independent-Samples t Test.
Results: The twelve-week program, Nordic Walking group show significant decreases in body weight, BMI, and visceral fat area, and Nordic Walking in body weight, BMI, body fat mass, body fat percentage, and visceral fat area are more decreasing than control group. In functional fitness, all items reached significant progress, except one.
