Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 資訊科學系碩士班 === 103 === Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) has received considerable attention in recent years. It has unstable channel features such as short communication time, low packet delivery ratio, frequent link breakage, and rapidly changed topology caused by high mobility. Therefore, applications on VANET environment require a specific routing protocol to maintain stable communication between vehicles. In this thesis, we propose a grid-based multipath routing protocol GVMR for vehicular Ad Hoc network. GVMR considers the vehicle’s mobility to find the best routing transmission path. In order to reduce the amount of control messages and increase the path robustness, GVMR partitions the geographic region into equal-size squares called grids. Each grid zone selects a grid head to detect the speed of nodes in the grid. By exchanging vehicles’ relative velocities, the most stable and reliable paths are selected. Once a route is established, it will be used to send packets immediately. An alternate route will be established and used if the first route is disconnected, it can reduce the impact of broken links. Simulation results showed that the proposed routing protocol achieves better performance compared with previous results.
