Based on such finding, this research aims to investigate if there exist significant differences on depression status and cognitive function before and after elderly people take yoga trainings. Meanwhile, the research also inspects the divergences in depression status and cognitive function between a yoga group and a non-yoga group--26 research participants are grouped randomly. The study adopts Experimental Research, with pretest-posttest designs. Research methods include Geriatric Depression Scale short-form 15 (GDS-15) to assess depression status, and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) to evaluate cognitive function. The experiment requires the members to participate for 20 times in a time span of 10 weeks. The statistics recorded during this period of time are analyzed through Nonparametric SPSS Methods, which lead to the following conclusions: 1. Yoga exercise has achieved noteworthy effects on the improvement of elderly depression status. 2. Yoga exercise and non-yoga exercise display different outcomes on the improvement of elderly depression status. 3. Yoga exercise shows no obvious effects on the promotion of cognitive function in the elderly. 4. Yoga exercise and non-yoga exercise present differential results on the betterment of cognitive function in the elderly. LEE, PAI-LIN 李百麟 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 57 zh-TW
