Graduate: Chou, Hui-Lin Advisor: Dr. Tsai, Jin-Hsien Abstract This study was designed to examine the Kaohsiung city senior high school students’ learning satisfaction and learning effectiveness of swimming courses. This study also explored the differences and correlations that learning satisfaction and learning effectiveness of swimming course among different demographic backgrounds of students. This study adopted survey research method used self-made scales as research tools. The participants of this study were self-edited questionnaires. The delivered questionnaires amounted to 720, 684 of which were retrieved. The valid retrieval rate measured up to 95 %. This study was used the SPSS For Windows 18.0 to analyze the collection data by following statistic methods, such as descriptive analysis, independent sample t tests, one-way ANOVAs, Scheffe’s methods, and canonical correlation analysis. Major Findings oF this study were as Follows: 1. The perception of senior high school students in learning satisfaction was above average. It performed well at peer relations, teacher’s instructions, school administration, but poorly at swimming pools and equipments. 2. The perception of senior high school students in learning effectiveness was above average. It performed well at affective learning, cognitive learning, but poorly at technical learning. 3.The perception of senior high school students in learning satisfaction would be significant differences between student’s grades, with or without swimming pool, swimming pool of indoor and outdoor, and among the scale of schools, teaching hours, frequency of teaching, studied abacus and participating in swimming, begins swimming studies the time. 4. The senior high school student’s perception in learning eFFectiveness would be significant differences between student’s grades, and among swimming capability, the scale of schools, teaching hours, frequency of teaching, studied abacus and participating in swimming, begins swimming studies the time. 5. The level of students’ swimming courses learning satisfaction had significantly positive correlation coefficients with their learning effectiveness.
