This artistic creation project attempt to comprehend the differences between “children see” and “adults interpret”. By narrating the past of a little girl in adult’s perspective and recalling real events in children’s angle which is rational thinking versus innocence, lost memories versus external destruction. Turning faded photographs into colorful animations.
“American Empire” narrated ocean resource scramble and the ambiguous relationship between U.S.A. and Taiwan. “Penguin” declared the right of life and existence with a personified penguin. “Bad Man” was the epitome of liner historical struggle. We might be able to peep, with some childishness and fantasies, at race, class, life value, international relations, gender role and other structures or contexts. Complex social situations led to three accidental events, which were true stories of small and medium family enterprises, modernization and globalization.
All three stories finally lead to one result. In the process of research, create and writing, I unfolded those chaotic memories and puzzles then sorted and folded them up, put them back on my shoulder and then carry on.
