Also, food quality and food safety are influential to human health, social stability and economic development. In recent years, there have been a great many of food safety incidents in the world, which have got people into a panic. Public education is the basis of a food safety system. Therefore, food safety education to the public could reduce the possibility that food safety incidents occur. The main purpose of the thesis is to investigate what the domestic manufacturers have done so far and what they should do in the future in food safety education to the public. First, by comparing the actions that the manufacturers in Taiwan, Europe and the U.S. have taken, we find out the deficiencies of domestic manufacturers in food safety education to the public. Next, to comprehend what government agencies and academia should do to assist domestic manufacturers to do food safety education to the public and to comprehend the expectation of domestic manufacturers to themself in doing food safety education to the public, we also make in-depth interviews with domestic manufacturers, government agencies and academia. The opinions obtained from the interviews may be used for their reference about how to promote food safety education to the public cooperatively.
