Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄海洋科技大學 === 航運管理研究所 === 103 === More pollutant emissions increasing because the global warming andit gradually dissolves the iceberg on the North Pole, the North Sea Route (NSR) are emerged between Asia and Europe. This paper explores the reductions of pollutant emissions, time-saving and cost-saving with ship fuel changed when the NSR routes are going to be employed and compared with the conventional Far East / Europe (F/E) trunk routes. We would suppose four situations andtwo sailing routes of shipping carriers and take account of the sailing time, port time and fuel cost to analysis and compare with different situations. The result showed that the NSR with LNG as the fuel can reduce the pollutant emissions and improve the sailing cost-saving with the best effects of slow steaming. And in this paper, we offer many statistics and data to conduct the container shipping companies on operating the F/E trunk routes.
