Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄海洋科技大學 === 海洋生物技術研究所 === 103 === Morphological characters of equilateral venus (Gomphina aequilatera) among three locations of Kinmen, Houhu, Chenggong, and Xiguoshan were shown not significant different. In the adductor muscle tissue, the mitochondrial COI DNA sequences of these equilateral venus were shown to be 99% similarity to that was published in NCBI (JN898934). However, in the gona tissue, two different COI sequences were identified. In addition to the one similar to that in the adductor muscle tissue, another COI sequence showing 81% similarity to that of Venerupis philippinarum and 80% similarity to that of Gomphina aequilatera was found. In addition to this phenomenon of Double Uniparental Inheritance observed in the mitochondria, two different sizes of internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1) between ribosomal RNA subunits in nucleus were found from equilateral venus in Kinmen area. One type with 759 bp length of DNA was shown to be 99% similarity to that of Gomphina aequilatera published in NCBI (JN996743) while the other with 742 bp length of DNA was shown to be 100% similarity to that of Macridiscus semicancellata published in NCBI (KF723778).The existence of great biodiversity in Gomphina aequilatera in Kinmen based on the COI and ITS1 sequences has suggested that hybridization between Gomphina aequilatera and other species did occur during its evolution.
