| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立宜蘭大學 === 建築與永續規劃研究所碩士班 === 103 === In recent years, cultural landscape is a topic that has been continuing study for the policy of cultural development. It is a concept that has a context of landscape and contains a structure of overall development in landscape and a connection of diverse, complex and stacked landscape elements. This study attempts to explore industrial spaces in Chung Hsing paper mill in Yilan County from the context of cultural landscape and to explain the structure of industrial landscape from the overall context. The purposes of this study are to clarify the concept and content of cultural landscape, to explore the development process of industrial spaces in Chung Hsing paper mill, and to examine its historical context and landscape composition. In addition, this study also presents the current status of the development of Chung Hsing Cultural and Creative Park and explores the characteristics and importance of industrial spaces from the context of cultural landscape.
The literature analysis, field investigation and image analysis are the research methods used in this study. In the literature analysis, documents pertinent to the theory of cultural landscape are reviewed to understand the origin and concept, the status of domestic development, and the significance of the development of space composition and conservation management. In addition, the cases of World Heritage Cultural Landscapes are also reviewed as references. Moreover, the historical documents related to Chung Hsing paper mill are analyzed to understand the main factors affecting the changes of industry landscape in times. In the field investigation, we investigate the current conditions of industrial spaces and the development of Chung Hsing Cultural and Creative Park in order to understand the current status of industrial resources. In the image analysis, the aerial image maps taken by the Aerial Survey Office, Forestry Bureau, are analyzed to produce the elements and structures of industrial landscape in periods divided into 1978, 1986, 1996, 2006, 2013 and 2014. The important cultural values possessed by Chung Hsing paper mill have been obtained from analyzing the context of its space development. Furthermore, conclusions and recommendations are made as a resource for future industrial development. This study has revealed seven main findings as follows:
1. The industrial context of Chung Hsing paper mill is established in the process of production in human society.
2. The industrial cultural landscape is constituted as a special industry.
3. The industrial landscape of Chung Hsing paper mill has the characteristics of times.
4. Chung Hsing paper mill is a stronghold connecting the development of regional industrial cultural space.
5. The industrial characteristics of Chung Hsing paper mill is the basis for the development of local cultural values.
6. The concept of cultural landscape can be used as a tool for understanding and experience of spaces.
7. The recommendations for the maintenance and management of Chung Hsing paper mill are made based on the concept of cultural landscape.
