Summary: | 碩士 === 南華大學 === 生死學系碩士班 === 103 === This study was designed to investigate " Can the grief therapy be realized when there's no cadaver in funeral rites? " The contents include understanding of the cultural values associated with Xiaolin villagers funeral, funeral arrangements and grief healing, the differences of grief healing effect of the victims families and understanding the sad way after funeral. In order to study Specifically and in-depth, this research especially for the Xiaolin village of Shanlin Township, Kaohsiung County hit by Eight-Eight Typhoon Morakot.For the needs of the theme of research, this study use qualitative research methods and implement literature analysis, discussion and comparison after extensive data collection, then to establish a framework of this study.
Due to global climate change interfiles, the major natural disasters had increased around the world, this study attempts to provide the countermeasures according to the empirical result for government sectors and NGOs and serves as reference for decision-making. The result is mainly summarized as follows:
First. Xiaolin villagers still believe firmly the worship of sacred idols and ancestors, and have the traditional ideas that burial brings peace to the deceased. However, there are some factors, such as economic convenience and the lack of burial resources, which support the cremation as a common way.
Second. Xiaolin villagers consider that appropriate funeral arrangements can be helpful for grief healing.
Third. The acquisition of the remains can better help victims' families get out of the sadness.
Fourth. After funerals, adopting a positive approach can help families get out of sadness; on the contrary, a negative approach would make them repress the sadness.
