Through the visual art courses designed by the researcher to enable students to get close to and explore campus space, and in real life students learn how to transform recyclable materials, transform campus space and solve problems, and ultimately, students can expect: (i) to develop the habits of environmental protection and the actual implementation of environmental protection in life; (ii) culturing the initiative to problem-solving reaction and ability; (iii) the art practice and application in life; (iv) care environment, identity and care the campus. According to the study purpose and teaching results, the conclusions of this study are summarized as following: First, explore the implication of utilizing recyclable materials to vitalize space of campus in art courses. 1.Comply with postmodern art education thoughts 2.To achieve the purpose of arts education in real situations 3.The learning of environmental art initiative on campus. 4.To enhance the school’s emotion and identity. 5.To highlight the style and characteristics of the school. 6.The life application and practice of environment protection and art. Second, development the visual art courses of “utilizing recyclable materials to vitalize space of campus” for fifth-grade students. The course development of this study is based on research hypothesis, then the literature analysis summarized in “utilizing recyclable materials to vitalize space of campus” art courses design principles, integration methods and design approach. Then conceptualize and concretize the school vision and determine the core of course development, set the topic of the course, analyze the characteristics of campus space, the motivation of transformation, the way to vitalize the space. Follow the course design principles, the integration method and course design approach, use spiral curriculum design approach to plan three topics, and implement seven activities. Third, explore the applicability of this course through the actual verification of instructional design. The researcher found that teaching of “utilizing recyclable materials to vitalize space of campus” art course has significant learning outcomes. 1.Master of arts and humanities course goal 2.Comply with fifth-grade students’ cognitive development 3.The course meets the needs and interests of students, highly recognized by students 4.Close to student life, learning in real life, and learning more. 5.To provide suggestions of course and instruction design for teachers’ reference 6.Acclaimed teaching achievement. 7.Research hypothesis is true and achieve the expectations. Finally, provide suggestions for teachers, schools and future research reference. For teacher aspect: 1.The courses should give students plenty of time to learn, digest, think and absorb. 2.The course design and conduct need to be adjusted with the teaching objectives or requirements. 3.The priority consideration of course design is the development of students ability and mutual understanding 4.In real life learning, it’s recommended to plan activities based on needs of students, teachers plan, school activities, etc. 5.Let the art integrated into life, can include concept/issues discussion and creation. 6.Hold more exhibitions to provide other students more opportunities to visit, and develop students the ability to guide in exhibition. For school aspect: 1.Support teachers teaching and research, subject to administrative support 2.Allocate more space for exhibition to display student work 3.School layout demands requested by offices were adopted by each class, unrelated to competition For future research aspect: 1.The study can be extended to different grades; different space and different ways vitalize space needs. 2.Perform the professional cooperation with different areas to explore cross-industry collaborative research.
