The evaluation of the conservation value of leopard cat’s habitat---the leopard cat’s habitat residents and non- residents/the children’s future or adult’s present

If given enough inhabitat that is well protective, naturally all the dependent animals in the habitat will get protection. According to the investigation that there are about six hundred Leopard cats alive currently. In addition, based on shaffer’s Minimum Viable Population Size (MVP), in the long term ,the group must have at least 500 individuals, only enough to keep the population genetic variability. Now, Leopard cats is facing the threat of human development such as habitat loss and fragmentation, etc., Leopard cat’s habitat should be developed or that to conservation? The value of land development and the value of habitat conservation is need to be estimated. The purpose of The national trust is preserving the beautiful natural habitat and building a good environment to the next generation. In Japan, The Totoro’s forest and The Shiretoko’s forest has been involved with National Trust projects for a long time to protect the forests,many children donate their money to The National Trust becase they have a dream that will purchase a beautiful enviorment for their’s future. In taiwan, if we can to conservate the Leopard cats forest with National Trust projects to protect the forests that the Leopard cats could live in there, maybe we can create the bigest benefit with the leopard cat’s habitat residents, non- residents and the leopard cat’s. This study uses the contingent valuation method(CVM) to evaluate the Miaoli( the leopard cat’s habitat residents) and the Hsinchu (the leopard cat’s habitat non- residents )people’s willingness to pay(WTP) for the conservation of the leopard cats and compare the difference between the adult’s WTP and child’s WTP. We create a hypothetical market and use payment cards method to estimate the adult’s WTP and child’s WTP. The adult of personal per year WTP is NT 929.05 at Miaoli area, that is NT 1,181.48 at Hsinchu area and all adult is NT 1,064.94 at Miaoli area and Hsinchu area when we undelete the protest bid. The non-use value of the conservation of the leopard cats is NT 199.1715billion one year.When we delete the protest bid ,the adult of personal per year WTP is NT 1395.70 at Miaoli area, that is NT 1,690.47 at Hsinchu area and all adult is NT 1,557.91 at Miaoli area and Hsinchu area. The non-market value of the conservation of the leopard cats is NT 291.37 billion one year. The child of personal per year WTP is NT 278.44 at Miaoli area, that is NT 409.86 at Hsinchu area and all child is NT 346.07 at Miaoli area and Hsinchu area when we undelete the protest bid. The non-market value of the conservation of the leopard cats is NT9.446 billion one year. When we delete the protest bid ,the child of personal per year WTP is NT 322.37 at Miaoli area, that is NT 481.82 at Hsinchu area and all child is NT 403.81 at Miaoli area and Hsinchu area. The non-market value of the conservation of the leopard cats is NT 11.221 billion one year. The result prove that the benefits of the conservation of the leopard cats will be underestimated ,if we undelete the protest bid of sample. Both adult and child,the WTP of Hsinchu area is higher than Miaoli area. In addition to research and analysis of the individual students themselves WTP of the conservation of the leopard cats, but also to explore the WTP of the family in child’s heart. The empirical results that the family of per year WTP is NT 1683.49 at Miaoli area, that is NT 1927.75 at Hsinchu area when we undelete the protest bid. When we delete the protest bid ,the family of personal per year WTP is NT 1743.20 at Miaoli area, that is NT 2135.52 at Hsinchu area .The result prove that the benefits of the conservation of the leopard cats will be underestimated ,if we undelete the protest bid of sample. The WTP of Hsinchu area is higher than Miaoli area.
