In aging process, their aging symptoms appear early. Nowadays, most of family inability to provide comprehensive care for ID. They will be taken care into the institution for a long time. Consequently, it’s important issues of aging services provided within institution. Objective: The purpose of this study was to understand healthy aging cognitive and health needs of ID by institution’s caregivers view, and institutions of the situation in health service provided for the ID who faced by the aging. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted. This survey collected data by a structured questionnaire which included healthy aging cognition, active aging services of the importance and health status of the implementation of institutional services. We used stratified purposive sampling methods to choose the institutional caregivers excluding substitute for the study based on the proportion of the institutions in the four geographic areas of Taiwan. We mailed questionnaire to the caregivers by 16 institutions. Finally, 920 valid questionnaires were returned, with a response rate of 91.9%. And the data was analyzed by SPSS 20.0 software in this study. Results: The present study results showed that 81.2% of the participants were women, and their average age is about 43 years. At the healthy aging cognitive section, knowledge average score was 30.6, attitude average score was 31.0, behavior average score was 28.7. The service importance, care service is the most importance, followed by mental health. The service implementation, care service is the highest, followed by physical health. And the potential service, mental health is the highest, followed by care service. By linear regression, the factor of healthy aging cognition were found to be more likely to affect service important (R2=28.4%); and then placed three points of healthy aging cognition, we found attitude is associate with service important (R2=29.5%). The factor of assistive device practice and service important were found to be more likely to affect service implementation (R2=28.6%); and then placed healthy aging cognition, we found participate program, service important and healthy aging cognition is associate with service implementation (R2=31.0%). Conclusions: This study found that mental health and care service is important issue nowadays. Both of participate program and healthy aging cognition affect the service implementation. So, hope government and institution should pay much attention to the aging issue by health promotion policy for ID.
