Caregivers need to long time to stand, walk and do some assistance works. It may cause muscle and bone hurt. There were a few studies to research caregivers’ osteoporosis situation in institutes, so we want to discuss that work feature and daily lifestyle may relate to osteoporosis. Objective: This study aims to exam caregivers’ osteoporosis risk assessment, acknowledge about osteoporosis and work feature. Methods: A cross-sectional survey. We used a purposive sampling method to choose the institutional caregivers excluding substitute for the study based on the proportion of the institutions in the six areas of Taiwan. We use a structured questionnaire to investigate caregivers’ work feature, and assessment risk of osteoporosis. We mailed 459 questionnaires were distributed to the caregivers among the 7 institutions, and included an introduction letter, an informed consent, and a structured questionnaire that queried the caregivers’ demographic and working characteristics, daily lifestyle, One-minute osteoporosis risk test, and FRAX. Finally, 455 valid questionnaires were returned, with a response rate of 99%. Result: We found cargivers’ are more female, and physical state are better, most caregivers have exercise about 71.9%, and most caregivers’ job type is half sedentary half labor, and no shift work caregivers are 57.6%; knowledge of osteoporosis are in medium level, and age, grade levels, did BMD examination, physical state, shift work are the factors to effect knowledge of osteoporosis, ten year fracture risk major osteoporotic and hip fracture percentage are in low risk groups.
