In order to describe working poor in Taiwan's labor market, the article used two definitions of working poor the “individual” dimension and the “individual and household’’ dimension attempting to explain working poor in Taiwan’s labor market. Findings are as follows: The study found the high risk fell into working poor in labor market that were female, younger, older, and working in the primary industry. And the poverty problem on household, according to spouses who have work or not, they will affect economic situation on household even improve the risk of working poor on workers who are married or cohabitation. The factors were level of education, the degree of urbanization of residence, occupation, work patterns and the organizational units related to the risk of working poor that had some explanatory power. Surprisingly, this article was not expected imaging Taiwanese aborigines’ risk of working poor was higher than other ethnic groups Finally, the result also described human capital theory, new structuralism, and industrial theory to explain phenomenon of working poor that had some explanatory power, while the hypothesis on trickle down thesis couldn’t support in this article.
