Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 企業管理學系 === 103 === Environmental issues make prominent the importance of environmental education. However, in Taiwan, the operational difficulties perceived by the environmental education industry may arise from the lack of sustainable business models. A business model is a conceptual tool and describes the rationale of strategic application of available resources to capture customer value for sustainability. Based on the benchmarking concept, this study selected three environmental education centers from the winners of the National Environmental Education Awards to interview their executive managers with a questionnaire. That applied the seconday data and was conducted on a framework of Osterwalder and Pigneur's business model from the nine building blocks of customer segments, value propositions, channels, customer relationships, revenue streams, key resources, key activities, key partners and cost structure. This paper indicated that the Fengtian Environmental Education Center, the Chihnan Natural Education Center and the Yongan Environmental Education Park had driven their forces on value propositions in social enterprise, key resources in forest recreation and key activities in culture heritage recpectively. Propositions were also developed for the industry, including to create well-defined compelling value propositions, to identify key partners, to locate key resources and to organize key activities.
