This empirical case study explores the relationships between tourist food consumption, tourist satisfaction and revisiting intention, since revisiting intention for a tourist destination is a crucial factor and important for future strategic planning and development.
Taiwan, known as Formosa, not only admires us with their landscapes, history and culture, but also by their cuisine. This case study of Japanese tourist visiting Taipei and their experience during their stay seeks to highlight factors influencing food consumption during their stay and the relationship with travel intention and revisiting intention. The locale of this study is at Taipei, Taiwan, and data was collected in Taoyuan Airport by the author using simple random sampling and surveyed 150 respondents.
It is expected that this study will underline the increasing influence of the food impact on Japanese tourist on the organization of tourism in Taiwan and consequently provide insights on the positive and negative effects such as influence may bring. Based on the survey responses, the analyses reveled that purchasing local food product, consuming local beverage and variety seeking tendency have positive effect over revisiting intention.
