碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 輔導與諮商學系研究所 === 103 === The purpose of this study was to conduct an in- depth exploration regarding the social movement participants’ experience in 324 Sunflower Movement Banishment Event, presenting their persistence and resolution while national violence was imposed on. The study was based on narrative inquiry. Four participants were invited to share their experiences and perspectives. Data was collected via semi-structured interviews and was analyzed through holistic-content methods to show the participants’ determined unwillingness to retreat. Moreover, the data was also cross-case analyzed by categorical-content model to introduce identical and significant topics of participants’ experience in this event. The results of the study are shown as follows: 1.The experience of social movement participants being expelled in 324 Sunflower Movement Banishment Event.The experience includes: 1) Nervousness caused by heavy police forces deployment; 2) Shock aroused by the national violence, which exceeded far beyond expectation; 3) Dislodgment mixed with oral and physical violence; and 4) Inexperienced participants were with fear and numbness while experienced ones were fully aware of. 2.The main ideas of participants being persistent and unwilling to retreat during the expelling process are: 1) Shared feeling of weal and woe with participants; 2) Anticipation of progress and success; 3) Thought that retreat may mean surrender. 3.The signification of 324 Sunflower Movement Banishment Event includes: 1) Recalling the White Terror period, which was a historical representation of suppression of political dissidents in Taiwan; 2) Altering the knowledge of democracy and openness; 3) Changing the reliance and trust about the police For the participants, this event was merely a stepping-stone for future demonstration and protest and it also enhanced the core value of participating the social movement, which would be “the righteous thing is always worth doing.” Lastly, via the study, researcher hopes to provide reference and suggestion for future counselor, educators and trainees in counseling career.
