Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 史地學系研究所 === 103 === This study is to understand the annual, seasonal and hourly mean temperature and precipitation characteristics in Hualien and Taitung areas by 4 synoptic stations and 18 automatic stations of Central Weather Bureau in 1998-2013. The parameters include mean temperature, maximum and minimum temperature, diurnal temperature range, rain amount and rain hour. The relationship between temperature and precipitation is also discussed. The highest annual mean and maximum temperatures occur in coastal areas; another high temperature center is in the valley area due to its closed terrain. The annual minimum temperature shows low temperature centers in the mountain, valley and north areas due to station altitude, cold air downdraft and northeast monsoon. Seasonal mean temperature is highest in the typhoon season and occurs in the valley area due to solar radiation and closed terrain effects; lowest in the winter season and in the mountain, valley and northeast windward areas. Annual and seasonal mean diurnal temperature ranges are larger in mountain and valley areas than other areas. Mountain and windward areas have a maximum center in rain amount due to afternoon convective activities and northeast monsoon. Meiyu, typhoon and fall seasons have higher rain amount than other seasons due to meiyu systems, typhoons and monsoons. Annual and seasonal mean temperatures show a statistically significant negative relationship with station altitude; no relationship with latitude in all areas but a negative relationship in coastal areas during spring rain and winter seasons. Daily mean rain amount has a positive relationship with rain hours. Rain amount shows a positive relationship with station altitude in the annual and seasonal means of spring rain and meiyu seasons. Rain amount also shows a negative relationship with temperature in the annual and seasonal means of spring rain and meiyu seasons. Compared to the nearby stations, Chishang station reveals a distinct characteristic of hourly temperature and a larger diurnal temperature range in different natural seasons. Except in typhoon season, rain amount in Chishang indicates a stable and gentle change in other seasons.
