Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among vocational high school students’ perception of parents’ marital relationship, family atmosphere and their attitude toward heterosexual relationship. The study uses the questionnaire survey to collect 516 valid data, and the objects of study are national vocational high school students who come from the middle area of Taiwan. The data collected from ” Perception of Parents’ Marital Relationship Scale”, “Family Atmosphere Scale” and “The Attitudes toward Heterosexual Relationship Scale”. Data obtained by SPSS18.0 version. Descriptive statistics, t-test and multiple regressions are utilized to evaluate and analyze. The results are summarized below:
1. The vocational high school students’ perception of parents’ marital relationship, family atmosphere and their attitude toward heterosexual relationship are good and positive.
2. Different gender among vocational high school students’ perception of their parents’ marital relationship have significant differences, male are better to perceive good parents’ marital relationship.
3. Different heterosexual experiences among vocational high school students’ perception of their family atmosphere have significant differences, those who have heterosexual experiences are better to perceive good family atmosphere .
4. Different gender and have heterosexual experiences among vocational high school students’ attitude toward heterosexual relationship have significant differences, male and those who have heterosexual experiences are more positive in their attitude toward heterosexual relationship.
5. The vocational high school students’ perception on " parents’ marital relationships" and "family atmosphere" can predict effectively their attitude toward heterosexual relationship, among two of the predictive variables, family atmosphere has a more positive predict.
Based on the conclusion, the study provided suggestions for adolescents, parents, and education-related organizations for educational counseling or reference in future study.
