Focus group interviews and document analysis were utilized in this effort to analyze the data gathered from 14 grade 11 and grade 12 students who participate in the adventure education training and lead “adventure education and growth camp”. The aim of this study was to describe the participants’ experiences of the adventure education training and service-learning program, the effects of the training on the participants, and the connection between the adventure education training and service-learning program. The results were summarized as follows: 1. Training Experiences and Effects (1) Training Experiences:(a)Motivation and expectations; (b) Feelings and thoughts that participants have ever had included ;(c) Impressive activities. (2) Effects of training on participants involved:(a) team work; (b)face the challenge; (c) reflection and become more active; (d) faced with difficulties; (e) being aware of emotions triggered by activities and learning to act on. 2. Experience and Effects of Service-learning Programs on Participants (1)Participants’ Experience in the Service-learning Programs:(a)Feelings and thoughts that participants have ever had in the service-learning program;(b)Difficulties and challenges;(c) Impressive activities in the service-learning camp. (2)Effects of Service-learning Programs on Participants:(a) Learning lessons from the service-learning c (b) Getting a sense of accomplishment; (c)Learning the concept of service-learning through service learning; (d) Learning about service receivers and interacting with them. 3. Connections between the Training and Service-learning Programs:(a) the comparison of the similarities and differences of the experience and effects between the training and service learning c (b)Viewing the experience of participants in training and service learning camp, its’ mutual applications, and transference of the learning transference theory in life, schoolwork etc.. 4. Implications for School Counselors Who Provide Adventure Education Training and Service-learning Programs (1) recruitment;(2) planning curriculum; (3) helping students reflect upon the experiences;(4) establishing the partnerships with schools around; (5) services practice; (6) offering a variety of services to encourage adolescents to speak up; (7) looking at possibilities of connecting courses with service-learning. 5. Implications for Future Study Extending research on this topic to include junior high school students, advisors, and grade 10 students appears to be merited.
