Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 輔導與諮商學系所 === 103 === The purpose of this study is to verify Chi-Ping Deng’s (unpublished) 22 occupational groups derived from high school students’ preference toward college majors in Taiwan. It is part of the research for vocational interest structure in Taiwan.
778 vocational high school students provided valid study data by completing a questionnaire consisting of 144 occupational titles from the R.O.C’s Standard Classification of Occupations fifth amendment (Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan, R.O.C, 2010) and Deng's 22 occupational groups.
All of the study data are analyzed by the following methods: Pearson correlation, internal consistency and cluster analysis. The study results verified the 22 occupational interest groups exit in the vocational preferences of vocational high school students. However, there are two suggestions to the vocational interest structure according to the research results. They are 1)to separate “Medical Assistant” from “Medical Profession” and 2)to change names of “Applied Arts” and “Art Creation” into “Visual Arts” and “Performance Arts” respectively. Practical use of the vocational interest structure and future research directions are also suggested.
