The study firstly examined continuation high school students’ characteristics and the continuation high school counselors’ work content and further explored continuation high school counselors’ work predicament and their coping strategies on such predicament. The findings of the study included four components: the characteristics of continuation high school students, the work content, the work predicament, and the coping strategies. In addition, the results indicated the characteristics of continuation high school students had influence on the content of school counselors’ work. The work predicament included three dimensions: related to students, related to school organization, and related to the entire system of continuation high school. The findings demonstrated that the school counselors developed coping strategies which were related to the continuation high school students, the continuation high school organization, and the entire system of continuation high school. As a result of school counselors’ coping strategies, guidance services in continuation high school would be more suitable for the students’ learning needs, the continuation high school organization, and the entire system of continuation school. Given the research results, the researcher further discussed the work predicament and coping strategies and addressed the differences of the work content between continuation high school counselors and senior high school counselors.
