The pop-up book is one of picture books that are readable and playable to attract children’s attention and curiosity, to trigger more elements of imagination. New technology now is changing the learning mode; such as augmented reality (AR) makes the interactive multimedia diversification–a new trend and direction for study the interactive multimedia. It is seldom studied that the combination of augmented reality with pop-up book on inspiring children’s creativity. Therefore, this study will create a virtual reality to stimulate visual, auditory and tactual sensation based on the integration of augmented reality technology, which would promote the children’s imagination and creativity. This study has a quasi-experimental design, objectives covers children aged 6 to 8 in total 20, and to observe the children’s behavior of reading AR pop-up book. The TCT-DP (Test for Creative Thinking-Drawing Production), measurement of EEG, and semi-structured intervieware used to evaluate the influence of the augmented reality on the children’s reading interesting, concentration, imagination and creativity. The results from the quantitative analysis imply reading the augmented reality pop-up book can improve the creativity of preschool children, and also have a significant impact on flexibility, originality, elaboration and sensitivity. There is a significant impact on the creativity for 6 and 7 year-old children. Especially, it has significant impact on creativity of children who have been adopted professional education in children’s drawing. The findings suggest that alpha wave is closely associated with creativity. The creativity shows an ascension when the alpha and gamma wave is proportional.
