The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between business model and performance, proxied by the cost efficiencies, of the Taiwan hotel industry. The sample consists of 11 international tourist hotels listed in the TSE covered the period from 2009 to 2014. The empirical implementation has processed as a two-step procedure. First, a DEA based Meta-frontier is utilized to estimates the cost efficiencies of sample hotels. Then, we regress the cost efficiencies on the business model as well as several control variables using TOBIT regression to investigate the relationship between the business model and cost efficiency of . In support of the management theory, the empirical finding indicates a significant positive relationship between business model, number of rooms and interaction effect of business model and size.
